Sound like a builder who’s in on the joke

Section titled “Sound like a builder who’s in on the joke”

Clear, warm and specific. Make the next step easy. The humour is in the name; the copy just has to be helpful.

Couldn’t save. Try again. Oops! Somebody fell asleep on the job.
  • Say what happened, then what to do next. An empty state names the next action. An error says what failed and how to recover.
  • Use plain words. Projects, parts and builds, not assets and entities.
  • Joke when it’s going well, never when it isn’t. A sleepy empty state is fine. An error is not the place for a punchline, and no exclamation marks for errors.
  • In copy, write Nobody Builds: two words, both capitalized.
  • The wordmark is lowercase nobody builds and only ever appears as the logo artwork.
  • Keep technical names accurate: the Nobody-Builds organisation, the Nobody-Builds-Design repository and nobody-builds.github.io stay as they are.
