Introduction

Nobody builds. Except us. Nobody Builds is a GitHub organisation for people who make things, and its brand is a joke it’s happy to be on the end of: a builder asleep on the job, on a wall that’s already half built.

To fill in: one sentence on what Nobody Builds makes and who it’s for, like “free, open-source software for makerspaces”. It goes here and in the README.

The symbol is the builder: hard hat on, head down, zzz up.

Honest

We laugh at ourselves first. The name says nobody builds; the bricks say otherwise.

Hands-on

Real bricks, real work. Every build starts with the first one.

Friendly

Round shapes, warm colours, a character you’d share a bench with.
  • Name. Write Nobody Builds in copy. The wordmark is lowercase nobody builds. Keep technical names (like the Nobody-Builds organisation) accurate.
  • Logo. The builder is the symbol. Use the supplied masters. Never stretch, rotate, recolour, redraw or add effects. Keep a quarter of the symbol height clear on every side. Logo rules →
  • Mascot. The same builder is the friendly face for empty states, onboarding and merch. Meet the builder →
  • Colour. Neutral first, accent second. Seven exact colours, and only tested text pairs. Blue does the work, yellow is the one bold moment. Never yellow text on Paper. Every status gets a word or an icon, not just a colour. Colour →
  • Type. Gilroy for everything you read. Unbounded for one short, expressive phrase per layout. Typography →
  • Layout. Use one bold moment, align to a simple grid, and let empty space do its job. Graphics →
  • Voice. Clear, warm and specific, with a dry sense of humour. Make the next step easy. Voice →

The visual identity comes from the builder illustration, the Nobody Builds avatar on GitHub. The palette is built from its blue zzz and yellow hard hat, and every logo and mascot file is that same drawing, framed or bordered, never redrawn. How screens behave will come from Nobody Builds UX, our interaction system, once there’s a product to design for.
